LOCAL BUSINESS PROMOTES HEALTH AND DIVERSITY
Organic and locally grown Middle Eastern cuisine

LOGAN, Utah—Health conscious eaters on a budget in the Salt Lake City area will be happy Laziz, a nutritional hummus, can be put on their shelves.

“It is made using local and eco-friendly products, supporting local business and sustaining a healthier environment,” said Moudi Sbeity, who started the business. “It brings about a cultural addition to diversity in my community, and brings a healthy alternative to store bought hummus.”

Sbeity, originally from Lebanon, takes pride in the traditional dish that is gaining popularity in American society. Not only is the hummus organic and locally grown, but chemical and oil free, unlike most store bought hummus, and comes in affordable biodegradable containers.

“Eating organically is very healthy, not just a fashionable bandwagon to jump on, and hummus itself has many benefits. If you eat healthy, you will feel healthy physically, spiritually, emotionally and mentally,” said Sbeity.

Laziz, an Arabic word meaning tasty, enjoyable, and lighthearted is an all-encompassing name to reflect the atmosphere of the business and flavors found in traditional Lebanese hummus. Laziz started in February 2012 and is currently sold through personal orders and at the Utah CoOp each week. For special orders, contact Moudi by phone, email or find Laziz on Facebook at www.facebook.com/Lazizhummus
